hi peeps
a little bird planted an idea, and i'd like to see if it may be possible to manifest this over there in victoria
it'd be awesome to have a nice lil park party on Saturday May 17th afternoon
i'm wondering if this is a good idea, will it just be shut down by the police?
any ideas of a good park that is a bit higher traffic but no so much that neighbours will complain, etc?
i'm thinking something similar to Grandview Park on Commercial Drive?
it doesn't need to be a lot of work?
just gear and a soundsystem, and probably a generator....
i think it'd be loverly to chillax to some yummy dub/reggae tunes outside with loverly people, dancing, picnic'ing, etc
does this happen over there in vic? i know it does over here in van and it would so nice to do this post bass bottoms, a great way for the peeps of many locations to congregrate and converge....
lemme know what you's think
gracias
and blessings
xoxo

Tue, May 6, 2008 - 4:47 PMUnfortunately I think you would get shut down by cops pretty fast. It can be very conservative in this lil city of ours...

Event Info Host: Natalie Brubaker
Type: Other - Carnival
Time and Place Date: Sunday, May 25, 2008
Time: 2:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Beacon Hill Park
City/Town: Victoria, BC
Description
I'm trying to organize the biggest picnic ever...like, in the world. But, I think so far I only have as many friends in Victoria as I have fingers and toes. So I need your help to invite as many friends, family, and strangers as you possibly can!
THE EXACT LOCATION IS TO BE ANNOUNCED!!!
But look for the helium balloons!
Here are the conditions:
1. You must invite AT LEAST one friend.
2. You must invite AT LEAST one stranger.
3. Those you invite must follow all of the conditions as well.
4. Bring your absolute most favorite food and/or drink.
5. BYOU - Bring your own utensils.
Things that would make this the COOLEST picnic ever:
Voluntary displays of musical talent, ebullient men and women on stilts, kites, bubble wands, drums, frisbees, a slip'n slide, balls of all colors and sizes, dancing, kazoos, giant hula hoops, pogo sticks, croquet, costumes (especially gorillas, sumo suits, and anything renaissance), badminton, sparklers, belly dancing, ferrets, a hot air balloon, a marching band, dodge ball, jumping beans, water guns, jump ropes, candy apples, spin art, a cake walk, juggling, cotton candy, harmonicas and banjos, clowns, face painting, mud wrestling, rhythmic gymnasts, henna tattoos, hacky sac, boom boxes with phat beats.
You get the idea. Please bring or do anything that will make this a joyous occasion of splendor!
